Big Day of Giving 2022 - THANK YOU!!

Thank you!! - CCHAT Big Day of Giving 2022

Big Day of Giving 2022 was a HUGE SUCCESS!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's campaign, as we celebrated our 25th anniversary and the students who make CCHAT the amazing place that it is! With your help, CCHAT will continue to provide life-changing listening and spoken language services for the next generation of children with hearing loss.

From the entire CCHAT family...THANK YOU!

What Is Big Day of Giving?

Big Day of Giving 2022 | CCHAT Center Sacramento

This special event is a 24-hour online giving challenge on May 5 that brings the local community together to help raise money and shine a spotlight on all the great work nonprofits are doing in our region.

CCHAT's 8th Big Day of Giving campaign focuses on the listening, spoken language and literacy skills that students develop while enrolled in our program. Research shows that children who are deaf and hard of hearing are at risk for serious reading deficiencies, but children with hearing loss who acquire spoken language have a much easier time learning to read and write, which is critical to learning in all academic areas. Children with hearing loss who learn to listen and talk, perform at levels comparable to their hearing peers.

Our students depend on these essential services, and your generosity truly changes lives.

We can't do it without you!

For 25 years, CCHAT has given hope to families of children with hearing loss. Please continue to support CCHAT children. Let's ensure these amazing kids have all the tools necessary for the Brightest of Futures!

With CCHAT enjoying its 25th year of providing listening and spoken language skills to children with hearing loss, our success stories are mounting up! We get to witness the power of CCHAT everyday with Dominique (center), who benefited from CCHAT services as a child with hearing loss and now helps shape future generations as a CCHAT instructional aide!

Today, for Big Day of Giving, we are going to tell some stories about our amazing alumni students, see which current students may be following in their footsteps, and celebrate the incredible CCHAT community! As always, we couldn’t achieve these highs without your love and support. Help us continue our mission today by visiting http://www.bigdayofgiving.org/cchat! #BDOG2022

Mossawer in CCHAT’s Pre-K class takes his construction duties very seriously! Could he one day be a mechanical engineer like alum Ian Mook, who designs innovative slot machines in Nevada? “Happy 25th anniversary to CCHAT!” says Ian. “I’m forever grateful for CCHAT teachers and the help they gave me as a kid!” Today, you can make sure CCHAT’s life-changing program continues for another 25 years!

Luckily, we have Jeremiah and Lilly, CCHAT’s toddler cash register clerks, to help us count your contributions! With your support, maybe they will parlay their money-managing skills and emulate CCHAT alum Mitchell Harry, who now works as a financial advisor for Morgan Stanley!

Elizabeth Cocker graduated from CCHAT with a foundation of listening and spoken language skills. Now, her ability to communicate is imperative on a daily basis, as she assists travelers with Southwest Airlines! Could Acacia, always quick to lend a hand to her friends, follow Elizabeth’s lead? Anything is possible for CCHAT kids with your support!

Someone who knows something about “goals” is alum McCall Madriago, who now scores on the soccer field for the U.S. Deaf Women’s National team! CCHAT has always been home to some amazing athletes – maybe Olivia and Gabriel will one day be sports superstars! We are grateful to everyone who has shown their love for our program.
